What files do we need for Circuit Board Assembly ?

When customers choose their preferred circuit boards assembly manufacturer to process their circuit boards, they should prepare all files for production, as more specific as you can. But What files do we need for Circuit Board Assembly if you choose Tramtto?

Circuit board design

When you send us the circuit board design, the format should be gerber file or PCB file. If double sided circuit board including GTL/GBL, GTO/GBO, GTP/GBT, GTP/GBT, GKO, NC DRILL. If multilayer circuit board, the files will add inner layers, such as L2, L3, L4, etc.
PCB design file

At the time, the technical detail should be post in the file like:
Material: (FR4/ PI/ Roger/ Isolar,etc. ) Layers: ( 1L/ 2L/ 3L/ 4L, etc.)
Solder mask: both sides (green/ red/ yellow/ black/ white,etc.)
Silkscreen: both layers (white/ black)
Surface finishing: (ENIG/ Immersion Gold/ OSP/ Immersion Silver/ HASL, etc.)
Board Thickness: (0.4mm/ 0.8mm/ 1.2mm/ 1.6mm/ 1.8mm, etc.)

Stack up File

Stack-up files is used for multilayer PCB. The customers have special requirement for layer
stacked to achieve impedance control, blind via, etc.

BOM list (Bill of Material)

if you want to assembly all components on the boards, it is a must. The BOM list Designation, SMD/TH, Description, Quantity, Part Number, Manufacturer, URL Reference (Option). The following is the example for your reference.
BOM List

Pick Place File

Pick Place file is used to position every component to match the pads on the board. With this file, it is easy to import the file to the computer and position every placement. If without this file, our engineer will take a lot of time to input data for each one.

Assembly File

The assembly file shows the placement for each designator, which is convenient to solder every component to each placement correctly by manual work for circuit board prototypes or only a few TH parts after SMD work.

3D Circuit board File

It is a three dimension to show circuit boards soldered by all parts. If we have this file, we will know some connector direction, some parts shape, the TH holes, etc. But it is an option, but a must.
